Required Documents for Visa Application

 

1. Invitation letter from the conference organizers. A separate letter for each student even if you go as a member of the group (you should have the consulate’s confirmation that a PDF version of the invitation is OK. If not, then the organizers should send a hard copy by mail. In general, the consulates ask only for PDF version).
2. Student’s status letter from the university (on a colourful official blank in the first building of the university).
3. European University support letter from the Dean’s Office (on a colourful official blank in the first building of the university).
4. Bank statement information (minimum 1000 USD).
5. Copy of the valid residence card.
6. Copy of the valid passport.
7. Flight reservation (on the last day before going to the consulate).
8. Hotel reservation document.
9. Filled in Schengen visa application form (sometimes the application includes the appointment date, or you fill in the application form and appointment forms separately).
10. Two biometric photos (varies according to various consulates).

Notes: 1. please, have the copies of all these documents as after submitting them to the consulate you need the copies at the border as well.  2. Start preparation for the visa application in European countries minimum 1 month before. 3. Reserve and buy the flight tickets and accommodation 2-3 months before your actual visit. Consider the price and conditions and apply only after that.
